It takes an average of 32 to 35 days for an aluminum can to be purchased from the supermarket, consumed, recycled, made into a new can, filled, sold, and put back on the shelf.
To produce recycled aluminum, only 5% of the energy used in the primary process of manufacturing the material is used.
The aluminum can takes 200 to 500 years to decompose in nature.
